  • Just look at Dinesh, he's fuming, whereas Singer is calm.

  • Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him god -Epicurus ATHEISTS Winning since 33 A.D.

  • Umm...have you actually seen him formally debate? He has debated against D'Souza at Biola and did better. He's just being polite during the interview, until D'Souza spouted an outright lie which drove him to interrupt.

  • Peter singer is a horrible debater. He needs to be more assertive in a situation like this.

  • that was just beautiful i like that one !

  • if evil exist's you must assume that Good exist's also. If Good exists then there must be a moral law to differenciate between the two. if there is a moral law then there must be a moral law giver.

but thats whom your trying to disprove.

if there's no moral law giver there's no Good, if there's no Good then evil dosen't exist.

  • True morality and ethics involves a decision to transcend one's more selfish/lower nature in favor of selflessness.

The problem is ideologies and movements develop which desire to control and dominate others and they tend to use religious belief to manipulate and control others for their own selfish ends.

  • I will add that all people have morals but, because morals are not universal, some will perceive others' moral code as immoral. So "bad" is relative.

Regardless, we all have some kind of moral code, and religion was born out of our need to express that function of ourselves.

  • "In my opinion religion arose as a result of our inner drive to have some kind of morality"

"Bad people will do immoral things whether they believe in a God or not and they will justify their actions"

  • I made several statements. Maybe you can be a little more specific.

  • Leave it to the pomposity of an atheist to make that comment as you completely evade countering even the spirit of the argument!

If you are suggesting that the above leaders aren't atheist then, that is your right. But, you would be standing outside the realm of commonly accepted historical data.
