The Pulse of the Heartbeat! - "Should you hit children?"

This series of sketches pokes fun at how having a free press does not necessarily mean having a good press. Though here the topic is media in Poland several years after the fall of communism, I think it could apply to any country. Honestly, turn on any talk show and this is exactly what you'll see... ; )

Fyi, there was a time when the Polish television used tables without tabletops. Why? Maybe to save money? Maybe there was a shortage of tabletops? I don't know, but in any case they're parodying that.

"Za chwilę dalszy ciąg programu" (roughly: The show will return in a moment) was a comedy series from the early 90s. The artists of this group: Wojciech Mann, Krzysztof Materna, Grzegorz Wasowski, Sławomir Szczęśniak, and Arkadiusz Stegenka had previously worked together in the radio and would continue to work in various TV and radio shows. Mann and Materna were especially popular as a comedy duo and produced TV shows into the 2000s. They could be called the golden age of Polish satire. Modern comedy groups are generally more outright hilarious, but lack the biting intelligence that characterized Mann and Materna's sketches.

Dzięki! Choć jest to dosyć osobliwy rodzaj komedii nie przystępny dla przeciętnego użytkownika Youtube, to mam nadzieje, że takie przetłumaczenie pomoże ludziom którzy interesują się polską kulturą lub polskim językiem. Może da mi się zwabić kogoś na "naszą stronę".
