The Proffessors: Episode 63: Spoilafrickenrific

Hello everybody and welcome back to yet another episode of Planeswalking with the Proffessors. Today is the final week of previews before the prerelease, but, as of writing this all 145 cards of Conflux have been spoiled on MTGSalvation. Some from reprints, some come from people who just seemingly remember: Oh yea this card that hasnt been printed yet does this! and some previews being gotten from the official spoilers given to sites around the net.
And one in particular is Scar land Thrinax. I wonder who the lucky guy that got to spoil this was? I mean, the official site says that it was spoiled by Plaingames dot com, but, for some reason when I go to this site there is no preview to be found. And, for some reason when I go to MTGSalvation it says that Scar land Thrinax was spoiled by some person named: Youtube Preview, but when I click on the link it just brings me to some weird video thatwait a minuteso lets draw!

-Morphling was in Urza's (I missed that I didn't really know the old set symbols and thought that was onslaught (I started magic about 7 years ago, just short of onslaught))

-This set is pretty awesome.

-Odious Trow sucks but the ooze MAY be good.

-Thornling was fetching for $15 at the prerelease, but it's worth more and I shall prove it!

Lastly, if there was no fae and toast, B/W tokens, R/W lark and kithkin would dominate.

But mono green treefolk are bad, and thus, Dauntless Dourbark is bad. Tower's okay. Not a huge fan, but it's not bad. Usually when you have to discard, it usually isn't a big deal or you're winning anyway. Mayael is good in the right limited deck, just throwing it out there. Thorning SHOULD'NT go above $25, and mostly because of casual play. I prefer colossus, even in the current black lacking meta. When he rotates, it really depends on a lot of things, but he could see lots of play.

Giltspire avenger dies to EVERYTHING. Why not just play warmonk?

Nyxathid is GOOD in a dedicated discard deck. However, discard is weak atm, and it is not worth building around. Definitely an inclusion if you build one, however.

Zig is a great land in a creature only deck, obviously...but creature only decks just arnt'e very good. A lot of weird cards are good if you build around them. Take Dauntless Dourbark for example. In a mono green treefolk deck it's great right?
