The largest layoffs were at Al Gores Current Media, a broadcaster of viewer generated content. About 30 people in three US offices lost their jobs, and 30 more were moved into new positions, according to a company statement. Current retains 410 employees. Six Apart, a blogging software and services company, let go 8 percent of its 200 workers. The creator of the Movable Type blogging platform hired 90 people earlier this year. And a dozen people were laid off across various departments at Wired.coms San Francisco bureau, nearly a quarter of the 50 person staff, according to Valleywag.
