Our 1983 Jaguar XJ-6 passed the 300,000 mile mark on 11 February 2010. The engine has never been apart, and still runs well.

  • I like how you were going 30mph when you passed 300k! Way to go!

  • @amcdonal86VT Just another coincidence. She is up to 317K miles now and still going strong. Using a bit more oil now, but who is complaining

  • Just passed 312K miles, and it is running better than it has in a long time. The 5 speed manual gearbox was a great modification.

  • Great video and nice back quiet backroad too. Way to go ! Just run in at 300k miles then. Chris and Helena in UK here Allen, you restored a 63 E type for us way, way back -20 years ago - where did the time go ? Great to see you and Mark still keeping the legends alive and would love to pay you a visit in Greenville one day for old times sakes one day.

  • What a surprise! I was thinking of you guys just the other day. I remember when you were here, it was in the middle of summer, and quite hot. It is anything but that now with snow over the weekend. Yep, the xj6 is a great car, as you say, barely run in. The engine has never been apart, with the exception of a loose tappet guide some years back. It would be great to see you guys again. BTW, being on that road was just a fortunate accident.

  • I have an '87 Vanden Plas. It has about 155,000 miles, but this gives me inspiration for believing that there are many wonderful years yet to come.

  • Looked like 30,00 to me. ( just having a joke) Great job! I always drove Corvettes. One of the pre-requisite,s for doing so was a complete knowledge in auto mechanics! Drive it a 100 miles, and work on it a while. Wonderful post on the Jag.
