You first unscrew a few simple screws with washers that are holding the windows in, then take them out INTACT, yes I know it's amazing. Once those are SAFELY out, you cut your posts FROM THE TOP, then work down the sides if you wish to create an opening to the floor. Also don't PUSH down on the freaking sawsall, let it do the work!
