Shot on 16mm film in Orkney in June and November 1968, SEA ANGLING IN ORKNEY was my first joint venture into producing angling programmes with my dear friend and fishing companion, Michael Prichard ARPS. The programme features the legendary sea angling and beach-casting guru, Leslie Moncrieff.
BA was BEA in those days - and I was a youthful 25 years old.
This is part one of that quest in the beautiful islands of Orkney just a few miles across the Pentland Firth from the Scottish mainland. It features the rugged coastline of the Island of Hoy and some excellent sport with haddock, cod and ling. The common skate and halibut come later, in parts 2 and 3. Enjoy.
I dedicate this short clip to Mike Prichard and Les Moncrieff who are sadly no longer with us.
Happy memories

Glad you like the programme. Part 2 now live on YouTube.
Part 3 to follow, where I land my 58.5 lbs halibut: not large by today's standards, but in those days, the second largest landed on rod and line in Britain. Tight Lines. Mike Shepley
