Luke Kruytbosch, an alumnus of RTIP, was an American Thoroughbred horse racing announcer. He began announcing horse races on the Arizona County Fair circuit while attending the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program. After college he began announcing both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing throughout the southwest. Six times he called the world's richest Quarter Horse race, The All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs. In 1996 he was named Track Announcer at Hollywood Park Racetrack, then in 1999 he moved on to Churchill Downs in Louisville,Kentucky. He is best remembered as the on-track public-address voice of Churchill Downs and The Kentucky Derby from 1999 until his death. He also called races at Ellis Park, Kentucky Downs and Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona. Luke was interviewed in April 2008. He died on July 14, 2008.

The Race Track Industry Program (RTIP) at the University of Arizona is the only program of its kind. We offer two paths based on student interest. The Business Path prepares students for employment in the areas of race track management, regulation and pari-mutuel racing organizations. The Equine Management Path prepares students for employment in areas dealing with racing and breeding animals. http://cals.arizona.edu/rtip/index.html
