This is one of the coolest climbs that I have done! The thrill and the views were amazing. The summit is about 7,650 feet and several of the valleys below are 1,200 to 2,000 feet so you are really looking pretty far down. The trailhead starts out around 5,700 feet so there is roughly 2,000 feet of elevation gain by foot.

  • Is it hard to get down?

  • Not so much hard as it was a little freaky. Once we were at the top, it really looked intense when looking back down. It had a look to it like you couldn't get down without falling.

  • you did know that there is a trail to the top right?

  • We were on the trail. When you are close to the peak, it becomes very rocky and there is no soil trail that is easily distinguished. We ran into a couple other groups of hikers and they had gone the same way.
