This footage is of a pole atop the weather observation tower at Mount Washington, NH. Mount Washington is known for having some of the worst weather in the world, and one of the elements that makes it that way is rime ice, which is literally frozen fog.
An Observer Comment was written about this topic, which can be seen for December 9, 2008 at this website: http://www.mountwashington.org/weather/comments/. We update this daily with what life is like on the summit, so check back often. We also update other parts of our site at http://www.mountwashington.org.

Great Job, Ryan and Ed!
I've seen some still-shots of rime on windows shot from within the OBS building. Is it possible to set up so as to be free from the harsh outside environment and get some of those great "fish" or wave formations at a later date?
Thanks for sharing your great work!
