And under the boughs unbowed
All holding a snowy shroud
She had no heart, so hardened
All under the boughts unbowed

Each feather, it fell from skin
'Til threadbare and she grew thin
How were my eyes so blinded?
Each feather, it fell from skin

And I will hang my head
Hang my head low
And I will hang my head
Hang my head low

A gray sky with bitter skin
A rain cloud would rain on me
All out behind horizon, ohh
A gray sky of bitter skin

And I will hang my head
Hang my head low
And I will hang my head
Hang my head low

And I will hang my head
Hang my head low
And I will hang my head
Hang my head low

And I will hang my head
Hang my head low
And I will hang my head
Hang my head low

And I will hang my head
Hang my head low
And I will hang my head
Hang my head low

And under the boughts unbowed
All holding a snowy shroud
She had no heart, so hardened
All the boughs unbowed

  • Amazing. Seems like Nick Cave can do nothing wrong :) Midas touch!

I also did a cover of the Decemberists original, fans should check it out:

  • @joeat963 then i am one more... of like heart...

  • Oh god. Nick Cave is one of my favourite male singers. And The Decemberists are one of my favourite bands. I've never heard Marianne Faithful before, but gosh. This cover is so great. Insta-fan. What a glorious combination.

  • *goosebumps*

  • I LOVE THIS! THANK YOU x

  • @joeat963 How old are you? We grew up with that staff, since it started. And not only music, or something. It was a whole, complete movement in any level. If you are a grown up, I will happily, if I am asked, write my opinion about what was the premises, the sequence and consequence of it.

    Yours,

    Mihael

  • Wow. Two of my favourite musicians covering a song by one of my favourite bands. :D

  • @dances with joy

I love this version, but why would Nick Cave know to correct Marianne on a song by the Decembrists? (barring the fact he has god-like awesome powers)
