Google the "paradox of happiness," you'll see he makes sense:
The theory is if you do/buy things with the purpose of achieving happiness, you won't be happy.
But, if you do things WITHOUT the purpose of being happy (i.e., you do something because you enjoy it, but don't realize that's why you do it), you'll get happiness out of it.
Think of the happiest times in your life: you'll remember that "being happy" was so easy, you weren't even trying. Happiness isn't attained, it can only ensue.
