  • 1:42 had to hurt!! Pretty forehand and ugly fall. Worst foot work ever

    after he makes contact.

  • what i dont get i sthe song ??? WTF !

  • I was just telling apart flat power from topspin power, not more from less power. All of them have a fluid full extended follow-through, but neither Lendl nor Sampras did use the modern "windshield wiper" (commonly defined as forearm rotation) since their racquet head comes more "classicaly" through the ball (whack) than over the ball (caress). They simply didn't need to finish like Roger to crash the ball.

  • Weakest?! Prettiest (my opinion!) doesn't mean strongest (or Roddick's serve would be the worse), neither most flat, nor most classic (or Connors' forehand would be the best), while most consistent maybe. If you disagree with my technical analysis, take a look at my last post: "Ivan Lendl vs Roger Federer - The Technique (Promo)". Than tell me what you think about?

  • @mydog8u2 Wait, I just realised what you said is exactly that: Federer's forehand is the weakest with most topspin. Lol sorry

  • @matteodinenno Really? I would've thought, in terms of power, Federer would come last. Anyway, we'll have to settle with "the gustibus" haha. Both Sampras and Lendl seem to give the ball a good whack at it whereas Federer more so 'caresses' the ball with the arm wrapping around his opposite shoulder on full extension. Just appears more graceful to me.

  • "I don't use as much topspin as Borg, yet i hit harder than anyone - not deeper than Connors, but harder" writes Ivan Lendl in one of his instructional books (Ivan Lendl's power tennis). "My purpous are more offensive than Borg's, Wilander's or Vilas', but not as risky as Connors". Thay are his own words. So i'd say that neither the depth nor the angles are the main result of Lendl's shots, but the velocity. Not spin, but speed!
