Lovely video. Now the Harrier's have been sold to America for spares at a bargain price. Gutted.

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF T?HE DEFENCE REVIEW! Harriers are the most capable, versatile air craft we have! plus the are the CHEAPEST TO RUN! our govenment is made entirely of idiots....they make decision on things of which they have NO knowledge! one day they will realise their mistake when we need these again but don't have them!

awesome

I missed this. I grew up on RAF Cottesmore, my father flew argosy's in the 70's and Canberras were based there too.
Feels as though I retired too, born in 1960, an amazing plane and has been of great service to the country.

why dont they make these anymore?

UK could still transfer the Harriers to Chile. They would pacify Argentina and its claim for sovereignty over the Falklands.
What video camera did you use to record this?

@upernoe Sony Handycam SR10e, nice entry level HD cam. I got the XR155e now, which is giving good results.

Wonkabar007 you have hit it spot on with the noise of the formation shutdown - thanks for providing the memory (and upstaging all the BBC coverage etc!).

@gbh1f It was freezing and the BBC camera guys were shivering, and couldn't wait to get into their vans for a hot cup of tea LOL. Only the hardcore avation fans kept their video cameras rolling until engine shutdown.

Great Vid this, well done.. you captured what, for me, was one of the most memorable moments - the formation shutdown...

@humrv7 It was the saddest sound ever! I hope a Harrier can be owned by a private outfit, and do hovering displays a few times a year. Harrier to the sky trust maybe.
