That's a Perfection Loop (not a bowline). But cool/fast way to tie one regardless. It's harder to untie then a bowline.
The PL is good for the end of a fly line and top of a leader. Then feed one loop through the other and feed the rest of the line through (join loop to loop). Then you can switch out leaders quickly without losing any fly line.
@913los The angler's loop/ perfection loop is a really excellent knot. It is much more secure than a standard bowline which comes undone when not under load very easily. (I don't know about some people who tie a "tugboat bowline" when they do this, but mine are always angler's loops)
This knot is better than a bowline, especially in slick lines (It was originally tied in gut) But you are right about it jamming, it is a little tough to untie.
this is the perfection knot; YET he done it nicely.

Not a true bowline. But, it's a quick knot. Like mentioned in comments, this knot will be hard to get undone if used with extreme weight.

A Bowline is called the King of knots because of its ability to hold maximum weight of the line and still come apart with ease.
This knot you tied will tighten up on itself and you will not get it apart if to much weight is used on the line.
How can anyone give your version the bowline name when it does not do its Job.
I tried your knot and now am having a huge problem with my line It will not come apart.
Learn the bowline properly NOT this version as a bowline THIS IS NOT A BOWLINE AT ALL!
