In 1925, Power Corporation of Canada pioneered the development of the hydroelectric industry, supplying power to homes and business across the country. But today the company is no longer about electric power; it's all about the financial services industry. Instead of generating kilowatts, this family-controlled management and holding company has responsibility for overseeing many billions of dollars in assets.

  • @Smokenfly514 because they are motherf*ckers who control media and politics here in QC CHAREST-LEGAULT-SIROIS= Uncle PAUL DESMARAIS

  • Power Corp has very few operations in Quebec now. Most of their assets are either in Europe or the USA. However they do own GESCA which is pretty much a holding that includes La Presse and other newspapers.

  • I'm a resident of Montreal. May I ask why it is that we seldom hear of Power Corp. here? I hear about smaller companies such as Quebecor far more often..
