Our first attempt to make items from bronze clay.

I hastily made a silly, and very simple knife-like figure out of one clay package just to try, whether firing can be made with normal blowtorch.

Obviously not, since after half an hour of firing, and quick cooling, bronze knife just crumbled to small pebbles. Perhaps smaller objects could be made, but knife was obviously too large to be evenly heated with blowtorch we had...

And perhaps wind and few raindrops had something to do with our experiment failing

  • i've just been making mtal clay and torch firing, copper clay works amazingly but my brass clay has exactly the same problem as you had and my items were small as well. wonder if it's to do with the alloy?
