@zetaalphachi You say you have an advanced degree in criminal justice but your language skills leave a lot to be desired. It's hear not here, and witnesses not witness's. Might sound a little pedantic to you but incorrect grammar and spelling on such a simple level makes you look like you're lying about your qualifications. If you are American please disregard this as it is well known that US schools don't teach English.

I don't think that Jerry Trumps testimony was what put the nail in Ryan's coffin, it was Chuck Erikson's testimony that screwed Ryan. So sad.
-
I believe without a doubt that Ryan Ferguson is innocent, however I can understand why Ryan was convicted in the first place. Chuck's testimony was very damning to Ryan's case. The jury would think that Chuck had no reason to lie, so Ryan must be guilty. But now with the ONLY two "witnesses" recanting their statement, I can not understand why the state has not released him. Their entire case just went up in smoke. It's a sad situation and my heart and prayers go out to Ryan.

When you have an adversarial legal system with lawyers and prosecutors who are more concerned with another notch on their trophy case than putting away the bad guys, then justice will continue to take a back seat. Combined with unintelligent yokels for juries, pray I am never falsely accused in the wrong State.

@zetaalphachi - Juror: "He seen him and pointed him out, that's pretty much all you needed right there.
"As someone that has an advanced degree in criminal justice, this is scary to here knowing how unreliable eye witness's are in general"
Yes, eye witness testimony is notoriously fickle and unreliable. Unless it is corroborated with secondary eye witnesses, or better yet real evidence, it is a very poor way to assuage guilt. Its even less reliable when it contradicts the initial report.
-
@zetaalphachi I am a 21 year old college student who took a community college class in criminology and even I know that. Witnesses are unreliable in general, nevermind 2 years after the fact.
I am sorry, but the jury was made up of a bunch of ignorant yokels. Just from working at a video store, I called b.s on that. Sorry, Trumpie. Not buying.

Jerry Trump was not just unreliable he went out of his way to lie.
His wife never sent him the newspaper. His entire story is a lie.
Chritine Varner proves that.
Jerry Trump was released from prison and a week later he was summons to the prosecutor's office. He walked in knowing nothing and later walked out as a key witness. Now we know he committed perjury.
We look forward to putting Trump back on the stand.

This video clearly shows Jerry Trump lied under oath when he pointed Ryan out in court as the person he saw in the parking lot that night.
Christine Varner and Barbara Trump have no reason to lie
The jury never heard their statements
If the jury had known
Ryan would have been found innocent
