@McLarenMercedes Well, Lancia beats the Ferrari (and the Volvo I guess) with a small 1.8 Litre engine already in 1985. Check out Lancia Delta S4, acceleration on gravel! 0-100 in 2.3 seconds. Thats faster than Bugatti Veyron on street.

@McLarenMercedes I see what you are saying, but you missed the point. For some people like me, That doesn't impress me. If I put a Giant turbo in my Honda minivan or whatever and make gobs of horsepower, and manage to beat a lamborghini in a straight line, that doesn't make my minivan better than a lamborghini. That's my point.

Give respect where it's due. In the end it's an early 60's Volvo using a modern Volvo engine (not some supercharged big block V8 or some supercar engine with twin turbos) beating a state-of-the-art modern Ferrari.

Try using a 60's Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Citroen, Renault with their modern engines and see if they can beat the Ferrari.

The Volvo is the "underdog" here, and people always have great sympathy for those. Be it Olympic Games, soccer, you name it...
