Yes busted. Busted without even needing to test it due to many documentations proving it's fake. Yeah it can be hard to get out of, but it's not going to suck you under.

I tested the myth myself, in natural quicksand, and it's still busted. If it's so deep that you cannot touch the bottom, it's actually impossible to sink completely. I tried to force myself completely under and failed: I couldn't even go under past my shoulders. Instead, if you DO touch the bottom (let's say that you stand up and it reaches your waist) you can ACT like you're sinking completely, by bending your legs and your back, which is what the ACTORS in those films are doing.

@gimkilo57 The quicksand is more dense than their bodies so they cannot fully be submerged.
-
@Etimos But that would be even harder to drown in. They did their research and applied their knowledge and came up with the most dangerous scenario possible.
-
I love how people moan about quicksand being thicker, not realising the sand is what makes people float so well in it..
-
were you listening?
-
Too much water, and the sand was probably too fine. The bucket example in the beginning was MUCH better. It should be more like a mix of water and cornstarch, fluid when relaxed, solid when agitated.
-
It's a shame to watch Jamie's impeccably clean white shirt get sullied. :(
-
Test it in Real quicksand!

real quicksand doesent suck you down and drown you. It sucks you down to a level so your head is over the surfice and then you are stuck and the sun, timewater and other such things is the things that kills you.
not busted? they should check on real quicksand

in the movie, and they are moving around a lot which pulls them down... I think it was explained in man vs wild...
And I think if it's deep enough, it would pull you down as you move around...
...
And I don's get what they did on the experiment... It looked like water, not quicksand..
