I think it was in '07...I'm not too sure to be honest. I don't have the best of memories.
-
what year did yall play clark and who did you march with?
-
Ok, I'll give you that. Well, if it's your alma mater, could you at least tell them to have a nice sound?? When we played them, they sounded like crap. All they did was blair and splat all over the place. The only good thing about their band I noticed was the sousas, which still sounded like they were spreading their sound.

Lol, high step is useless and sloppy. That really should be taken out of every marching band that does it.

Funny... I was just about to say the same thing to you. Critic!!! How you gonna downplay a whole culture of marching band and say its "useless and sloppy" because you dont understand it??? I thought society has made steps in the right direction but you clearly proved me wrong with the statement you made. You should think before you decide to make statements about somebody's craft which has generations of history behind it.

Who ever said I don't understand it? I marched high step for one year before I had it eliminated from my school. I talked to the director and convinced him to march a different style and everyone agreed.
I understand what you're saying about generations of "craft", but sometimes those crafts need to be revised, or sometimes even gotten rid of. I still stick to my original thought of high-step marching, but I respect what you've said.

But you might not realize that just because your school's band program "picked their feet up" for a year doesn't mean you understand it. Espacially in high school, which im assuming is what your talking about. Because no hbcu with a rich history of tradition (such as Clark Atlanta University) is going to revise what they do or get rid of it. So you can stop your wishful thinking, at least on my posts and other posts of my alma mater. It's here to stay (Forever to be). Thanks...
