Lake Kabori and Maruni beach are located in the south of Manokwari city, the capital city of West Papua province of the Republic of Indonesia. It is only a 25 minute ride from the city.
Tourists can hire boats from local fishermen to travel around the lake. Town dwellers are afraid to swim in the lake because they are afraid of being attacked and eaten by crocodiles.
Papuans who live a long the bank of Lake Kabori said that many crocodiles have been killed for their precious leather. So, it is not possible to see any of them anymore. Lake Kabori is still an attractive place for hiking, boating, fishing, bird watching and kayaking.
Across from Lake Kabori, we can see Maruni beach. From this beach we can see some part of Manokwari city that stretches along the coastal region of Dorey bay.
