what you do is add an alpha channel. go into the format that you would like to save it under when you're about to render out, in this case .avi or mov formats only and make sure that you change the option from RGB to RGBA. Both of these formats have to be uncompressed to save the alpha channel info. I hope this helps.

its OK... I found out... go to option in particular when you use it... and press register...

So when you go back to composition you choose Add Output Module.
personly is use a Huffyuv codec for a lossless render and i add a module in a H264 codec.. good luck

No i used real sandgrains photographed under a microscope. i rotated some in photoshop, then i used them as custom particles in trapcode's particulair..

Very nice, man. What's the particle count like for this? I always have my AE crashing above a threshold of particles.

ok this i did i used 6 solids with a instance of trapcode's Particulair and i used added this up to 61500 particles..of sand

And your crashing problem above a threshols is mainly a memory problem. add more RAM
