It's only an optical illusion. The frame rate of the camera is (almost) identical to the RPM (Rotation Per Minute) of the main rotor. That means that each time a frame is taken by the camera, the rotor makes a full rotation. This is called Stroboscopic Effect.

true, true.. if the choppers are used exclusively for offshore... but those'd have been the best 5 kg to invest if working on land as well :) the ec155 is quite weak... we have the vip version and with 8pax it's a challenge to take off at >30 celsius. and when there's no room to do a rolling takeoff we have to eke out some speed using high rpm, else...
no map display?... We have the small one, but at least we have one :)

It would just be extra weight to carry around and reduce the payload we can offer. Not much to see on a map when your over the sea ;-)
