OFFICIAL Beta LAUNCH DECEMBER 2011 - Make accountability profitable is a win win for all parties involved, and can bring us peace.
Repeace wants to unite the collective behind 3 empowering pledges:

1. I want to reward businesses that focus on local, sustainable, quality products and services, not on buying influence.

2. I want to reward politicians who are accountable to me, not to corporations.

3. I want to reward countries that promote and defend freedom of expression.

Accountability is not profitable for neither, politicians, or corporations. Asking a government owned by financial institutions to make banks pay their fair share of taxes doesn't work. Asking for affordable healthcare, or better wages, affordable education doesn't quite seem to work. Everyone wants those things, and both parties ignore them.

What can work is to make accountability profitable for all parties involved. A win win for all, is when businesses stay out of politics and stop lobbying for influence, politicians start doing their job as representing people. To try to make that happen, we have to show them that there is a demand. Demands create offers, specially when there is money involved.

Repeace.com will be creating and measuring those demands and holding them up to our institutions. The demands of accountability are reflecting what JFK referred to, when he spoke about peace in his commencement speech at the American University, in 1963.

"I'm talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men andnations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time."

JFK also said:

" Let us focus instead on a more practical, more attainable peace-- based not on a sudden revolution in human nature but on a gradual evolution in human institutions--on a series of concrete actions and effective agreements which are in the interest of all concerned."

Repeace will not function or operate as another organization, but create a tool, a virtual platform that delivers the counts of the pledges, news and blogs, to allow organizations to put pressure on government and businesses. Repeace will also mobilize artists and photographers to submit images from the front rows of the world revolution, and feature the art submitted.
