And if you want to refute that, please provide a source that shows Square admitting to intentionally writing the song to play with 2 different sets of lyrics depending on which "direction" you choose to play it in.

Sorry, but anyone who actually believes that Square did this intentionally is completely deluded. It would require an unprecedented level of musical genius to intentionally record a song that plays coherently with two different but equally meaningful sets of lyrics depending on whether you play it forwards/backwards.

Your mind is just hearing gibberish that sounds like English and interpreting it into what it wants to hear. That's why so many people differ on the "true" backwards lyrics.
