Thanksgiving 1963 sees the family reunite under the clouds of President Kennedy's assassination and the knowledge that with a new house planned by John, this may be the last one in this house. The family meets John-Boy's city girlfriend. Corabeth still disapproves of Aimee's lifestyle choices. Erin is offered a teaching job, but is unsure how to do that and raise her three children.

Mary McDonough's thespian skills improved like gangbusters when she filmed this. Before this, she always sounded like she was reciting memorized lines; sounded like she was reading. She must have taken extensive Actor's Studio classes and honed her craft. What an improvement.
