@BSWhimsy Downdrafts are one thing, the chances of getting found (intact) if you come down in the Gulf of Carpentaria (or on the more isolated mudflats) are between fuck all and none. Estuarine Crocodiles (BIG BAD BASTARDS) inhabit that area and are prolific, large and extremely capable of eating people. That said, I'd love to be back in the Gulf, I've always wanted to try this (in 1999 I was working at Gregory Downs and heard riders in a Glory that went over me).

Yes, but honestly start ON REALLY SMALL HILLS. Do not take off and get _ANY_ air untill you feel you are completely in control or will wreck that hang glider and probably you.

In my country theres no were to learn handgliding.how long do you think would take me to learn the basics? is it possible to do it in 3weeks or so while taking a long holiday.
