This is a great report on an interesting facet of the Neah Bay peoples. Thank you for posting it. I am going to travel to Neah bay and get some friends up there to show me some of their traps.

Now all you need to do is take away the .50 Cal Rifle and outboard engines the Makah use to practice their "heritage whale hunts". Let's see how well these modern day injuns do taking out a gray whale the old fashioned way...

@roseredrebel hey, I can explain. your video is attached to a bunch of survival trapping videos, they came here looking for info on how to build and implement one. that is all, so yes, they are rude. but just some insight maybe.

that is most interesting....i grew up in a mall village where people relied on fishing. at a certain time of year, pollock would chase herring ashore and get caught up in the seaweed....fishermen would go with wheelbarrows and collect them....if they had this kind of fish trap, they would have been much more productive...i thank you for the information you have giving me....and don't listen to the nay sayers...you did great....
