Triumph GT6 race car warming up. After a long winter we are going racing! The brake lines on this GT6 are copper nickel alloy. Please visit my website to purchase a kit for your Triumph http://www.austinhealeywood.com/brakelines.html
What we did over the winter: Added a much stiffer rear spring, welded up the differential, Increased the size of the engine crankcase breather substantially, removed the drive shaft and had it balanced to perfection.
Also we got of new set of light weight wheels.

  • hey i have a Spit6 with the MK3 when i turn the car on and its ideling its like sitting around 2 1/2 on my stock spitfire 1500 gage how the hell can i get it to come back down ??????just sounds like it at way to many rpms for sitting ????????? can some one please post a vid or tell me how to get it back to norm ????? just dont want to reck my motor

  • @Spit61977 several possibilities: weak throttle return spring, choke stuck on (fast idle cam should not be touching throttle shaft at idle), idle screws misadjusted (back them out to slow idle speed), ignition timing too advanced.

  • I'm sorry but something doesn't sound quite right here, either you have a carb problem or a valve problem, she sounds like she isnt running on all 6 cylinders, maybe 5.

  • I assure you the engine is quite healthy! Probably just the sound track.

  • Hey man!

    You have a nice car!

I have a GT-6 MK1 and i want upgrade the engine. I have a 2L. Have you any advice or web sites for that?

Thanks you, and have a good race :)

  • Some ideas:You can bump the compression by shaving the head. 0.1 inches (100 thou) this will give you about 10.5:1 compression. Add a mild road cam. Get a set of real SU carbs. These Webers are overkill for the street. Get a set of headers with round ports and port match the exhaust ports in the head. Have the flywheel lightened. Have fun!

  • nice,nice exhaust sound

  • nice

  • Really nice!

  • Too cool. I used to race a Spitfire back in the early 1970's. I'd love to race again but would need to win the lottery in order to afford to since its so expensive these days.

  • @Porsche9elfer im just learning where are the idle screws?????? i would love to be able to take into a shop but icant find any one to work on it which sucks, lots of people say the motor is really basic but im only 28 so guess i have years to learn it lol ok thank ill try out the thing you said and ill try and get a vid posted of its

    thanks again

  • Nice Webers!

  • Sounds great! Nice looking car.

  • It's that Weber/Ferrari sound. I think the SU's have a sweeter sound.

My Triumph is running on 5 and it doesn't sound nearly as good as this!!
