Lisa Fithian Teaching Radical to Chicago Teachers Union

The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) trained under radical street organizer, and leader of the anti-capitalist #occupy movement, Lisa Fithian, to stage a protest march in Chicago on 10/10/11.

During this event, more than 20+ members of the CTU were arrested.

THE NYT MAGAZINE SAYS THIS ABOUT FITHIAN

"You don't go to Fithian when you want to carry a placard," "You go to her when you want to make sure there are enough bolt cutters to go around."

@JamesBanfield1 Spot on! Our educational system is run a muck with this kind of garbage. I just got done with a sociology class, and the textbook was full of anti-American and anti-capitalist view points. We would not have achieved so much as a nation if it weren't for the free market. It makes me so sad to see this stuff. I wonder if any of those teachers could make it in the real world outside of academic union fantasy land.

I am not very impressed by Ms Fithian just as I am not impressed by your video. Fithian is boring. Your video is too, throwing around the usual "radical", "anti-capitalist"; showing a "dramatic" pan over a drum beat by youth that spells "Get Angry"... Be a little more creative.

@RGMerkel I decided to home school my youngest son for the reason u brought up. my older son has had to fight against this type of teacher since 7th grade. he's opted to stay in school but I can't tell u how many time I've had to call a teacher or the school due to a book or ideology his teachers were promoting that was seemingly anti-American or anti-capitalist. It's not that people don't have a right to feel the way they want to feel but not promote it in the public funded classrooms.

Lisa Fithian isn't terribly effective in OWS, since I haven't seen any images of protesters with conveniently taped-on, slung-on signs being quietly marched away while being chased by overeager reporters. Here's what I have seen: camera feed from Oakland shutting off as tear gas is fired and a picture of a police officer petting a cat on the front page of the Washington Post the day after. I'm not as concerned about Lisa Fithian manipulating the media as the media itself.
