On Monday 3rd May Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave this amazing speech to London Citizens. Even though he was interupted by a stage invasion he gave on of the speeches of of the general election 2010.

I'd rather him as prime-minister than Cameron. His PR thing was a disaster, but that was because it was overly american. It could have been a lot to do with this whole Rupert Murdoch thing we're learning about now. We don't need our leaders to be smiley-nice-idiots. We just need them to be competent, intelligent and passionate. He's far more of all of those things than Cameron. Cameron is vacuous and insincere.

It's a real shame how many people have bought the Tory propaganda about the national debt, the great spike in the national debt was a result of the financial crash and while Labour did run deficits and did waste some money - every government in living memory has done exactly the same.

Gordon Brown was a shit PM.The worst we have ever had. Left a wrecked economy with insuperable debts in his wake as well as a disastrous "Open door" immigration policy. An absolute "fucking disaster" as John Hutton , the former Labour Secretary of State described him.

Brown didn't always get it right, no politician does. But here's a man who spent his university days fighting for fair wages of cleaners at his university. This is a man who genuinely wanted to serve people, a man of real substance not style. Now we have Cameron, a shallow man of PR.
