Any native Japanese speaker will tell you the 2nd character is pronounced "kou" not "koo". And I have seen a more traditional kanji for "myo" or "light". There are so many versions of these symbols floating about its ridiculous. Bottomline, if you or the recipient can feel the energy, that's all that matters.

rofl is funny how things are always been changed and people are always debating about the symbols been original or not, bottom line is make it simple and visualize white light coming from your body into the person you want to heal, simple as that

I am pleased to see these symbols here. They are NOT to summon up demons but you do have to be very careful with them.

You can feel its power becouse it is powerful symbol and you are intuitive person, but if you can feel it does not mean you can use it. I had a same feeling with Power symbol, when I first saw it in a book - I could feel its power but I could not use it (I was not initiated). Now I am a Reiki Master. I think if you can feel it you might want to meditate - look at the symbol siently. May be the symbol is calling for you.....?

As you have not been initiated to Reiki Masters, you will be unable to use the Dai Koo Myo symbol. It has great power, you are right

@Jackytang7999 You cannot use Dai Koo Myo on level 2 as you have not been initiated for it. You will have to attend a Reiki Master's course before you can use this symbol

The word Reiki is often translated as "Universal Life Force" or "Universal Energy". I once had a Japanese person translate it as "Sharp Spirit"..

If Reiki practitioners need help with symbol hopefully this short video will help them. If a non Reiki practitioner looks at this video, it may get them interested in learning Reiki and the world will be a better place for it. If they are not interested, then no harm done. Patrick

Takata supposedly changed the Symbols to make them easier for Western people to draw. The original Dai Koo Mio Kanji is no longer used by competent Masters
