Built by the Aermotor windmill co. of Chicago these small air cooled hit and miss governed engines were designed to pump water all day on very little fuel. The engine is 8 cycle so the cam turns at 1/4 the crank speed firing every 4 turns of the crank rather than 2 when not on the governor. The extra non power strokes allowed the engine to run cool without a fan. Made from 1909 into the 20's and runs at about 450 rpms.
maaan... That's so cool!!! Love them old hit and miss jobs.... Kind of like radial engines... just nothin' like em...

Now that's something! Aermotor made an engine!! works pretty well for something so old; 8-cycle? Does it use a second expansion chamber for the hot combustion gasses?
