@rebelramble That's funny because I see all languages as beautiful and the way you described your thoughts in Chinese was like acid being poured into my ears. By the way if English is so simple minded then why do so many people speak it and want to learn it? Stop scratching your head, here is the answer. English is direct,decisive,and successful. Chinese is too elusive and thoughtful. A language for the scholars true, but how beautifully do you want to tell someone to pick up a box?

I can only express how I don't like this book in Chinese. English is too simple minded a language to allow me to express my feelings about this book: 我讀過這部英文小說 , 簡直是不文不類, 完全是老美作家利用她同胞對中國文化好奇的心理, 寫出來騙錢的書 , 如果這片是忠於原著拍攝的話 , 會是一部爛片 , 但如果把它改編成合乎當時中國社會文化和國詳的話, 也只不過是一部我們已在中, 港, 台, 電影電視上 , 看過千百遍的清代婦女受壓迫的舊提材吧了, 只是故事及情節更沉悶而已.
