We just barely have the space shuttle proram now. Challenger and Discovery catastrophes prove how difficult "navigable" space flight can be. It is highly unlikely that a non-winged rocket design could have made it to the moon and back with the relatively "primitive" engineering in use nearly forty years ago. People want to believe that we reached the moon.

The NASA images are not similar to the Capricorn images. The Capricorn Images were made to be similar to the original footage...
And if they circled the earth for eight days, do you think nobody would have noticed that? Either with telescopes or radar...? This idea is rediculous!

Maybe a better way to say it was that the Mars Surface Scene on "Capricorn One" was inspired by the Apollo 11 footage. After all, the movie was made nearly a decade after Apollo 11.
