Thanks guys :)..as a matter of fact my grandparents were from Newfoundland and I am so proud of that!! Also I think that my grandparents(if still alive) would be so happy that I love the culture and also that I have a Newfy (dog) she is the most wonderful pup I could ever ask for :)

As someone from Ontario, i just gotta say - Newfoundland is the best province in Canada. I love it there. Great people, great music, great times.. If I ever have the opportunity to move there, I definitely would. In two seconds.

Nope....I have a Newfoundland dog...and everyone in the dog world calls them Newfys!! :) I Love my Newfy hehehe

pentium449: to add to janejack's comment- I went on an exchange a few years ago, a few Newfies were also on the exchange, they introduced themselves as Newfies, referred to themselves as Newfies, and everyone referred to them as Newfies, and nobody took it as offensive, so I don't see how it's derogatory. As far as they were concerned I think they took the label as a badge of pride (as well they might)! Not all nicknames are insulting.

Two it's not derogatory like it's not derogatory to call someone from Quebec a Quebecker.

two you're just proving how uneducated Newfies are and why Newfoundland shouldnt be part of Canada. And also why as a have not province we should stop giving them money.
