Ukrainec candidate for the 14th District

Don Ukrainec is a candidate for the 14th district, running against John Conyers.

I believe government is too large and intrudes in our personal lives.

National Health Care - If we wanted a system like Canada's (slow, rationed) we'd move there. Instead, thousands of Canadians come here for care every week. They vote with their feet. I need you to vote for me. When elected, I'll lead the charge to repeal Obamacare.

Lower Taxes - Washington takes money from the states and then makes us jump through hoops to get it back- after expenses. The President's "Reach for the Top" education debacle is an example of this. Making us beg for OUR money is not only bad policy, it is immoral. The cure? Don't send the money there in the first place. Get Washington out of the business of redistributing wealth.

States Rights - Let me get this straight. The President has his Attorney General sue a state (Arizona) because he (Obama) refuses to enforce federal law. Isn't that his job under the Constitution? How about enforcing (and prosecuting) election laws? Maybe Washington should focus on its responsibilities under the Constitution and leave the rest to the states. We have a 10th Amendment - honor it!

Jobs - The government cannot create jobs. That is why Africa is poor. Government can create an atmosphere that promotes business. Businesses create jobs. Government should not pick winners and losers. Need proof? Look at the giant subsidies for Ethanol, a mediocre fuel the market doesn't want. There is no such thing as Green Jobs, despite what arrogant political "leaders" might tell you.
