A RM sniper can shoot from a tenis ball size hole in a wall (hide) from 1000 meters away and kill his target in the open but an SAS sniper can shoot through a 5p coin hole 150 meters away kill his target whilst a hostage is being used a human sheild and on the move , just goes to show the SAS train till its nature to them, damn straight who dares wins!

@anglo1saxon number 1 are you fit enough?, number 2 the training fucking recks, number 3 you have to have smart techniques and have to be hard as fuck. Number 4 if you make a wrong move you can fuck everything up, and number 5 you have to be calm at all times. if your using a sniper the scope isn't on your eye as the blow back will cause it to penetrate your eye, the butt stalk is fully pressed against your arm so the kick back will push your arm back and not damage any bones, the assault teams

@smith34n yeah but its like they can look at you and your record etc and watch your progress say do you want to take part in the selection you don't need to go if you don't want too..and on the other hand you can talk to your superiors and say but your superiors would not recommend it but if you think you have wat it takes you can go for it..thats how they get so many recuits and thats why most of them fail..they don't really come in a say i want you, you and you..

I want to be trained by the SAS :)

@weeguymo As far as I am aware, the only influence on joining the SAS you can have is expressing interest to your superiors. But, as it's always been, you cannot personnally choose to join the SAS or any UKSF unit.

Yeah, But being a trigger happy jarhead is what have gotten America such a bad reputation isn't it ? I thought snipers where trained to wait and stalk the enemy maybe for weeks on end. American military have the highest number of Coalition deaths of friendly forces across any war ! not just snipers. Find me evidence on here which says otherwise than British Royal Marines providing the best sniper training. Saying that it all comes down to the shooter. RMC best training

@smith34n you are right in a way its not like you can go in and say i want in... what i ment is you ask your C.O for information etc, you don't get chosen, as which the other people have said, you have to volunteer to go on selection, you maybe recomended by an officer, but you have to volunteer
