Why should Animal Control promote the keeping of outdoor cats? Indoor cats control mice. Outdoor cats kill birds too, not just mice. It would make more sense to bring the cats indoors or for animal control to take the cats away.

One tip I read. If you release a raccoon within 10 miles of where you caught it, there is a high likelihood it will find its way back to what it calls home. Your home. You need to drive them 10 to 15 miles away and release them. And yeah, it sounds like your animal control is lame there.

Animal control isn't for trapping wild animals that steal cat food. As annoying as missing cat food is, it's not a good use of public funds to go around trapping annoying animals. Animal control is for dangerous animals, rabid animals, dead animals (when rotting they can be a public health concern), not annoying animals.

Raccoons make good fixins with rice and beans. Plus if you skin them right you can make hats with their tails!

Yeah, I liked the raccoons, but they were wrecking our AC ducts and kept breaking back into our attic before we could make permanent construction improvements to block them out so they had to be relocated by AC. :(
