Lol, you are exactly right with your psychologists definition of 'Internet Tough Guy'. Having a couple of custom bikes stolen after taking all reasonable steps to prevent it is frustrating 'in real life'. The police can't find your bike even with an ID chip in the frame, all they can do is give you the paperwork so you can make an insurance claim. As an 'Internet Psychologist', hopefully you understand the term 'catharsis'...rest assured I won't be cutting anybody's balls off with bolt cutters.

People express themselves like that on the Internet to compensate for frustrations in real life. That is what an "Internet Tough Guy" is. Violent fantasies serve no purpose.

I am sorry about your bikes. I have heard London is very bad for bikes.

When you've had a couple of fairly expensive bikes stolen which have been locked up with 2 beefy locks in the middle of busy places in London.....then tell me I'm an internet tough guy and not just a really pissed off cyclist.

Ah well. I learn something new everyday. :-D

I've heard Pragmasis chains are really good. But they aren't cheap.

What if the thief is not a man?

No. Entrapment is not when opportunity is given by law enforcement to commit a crime, but when law enforcement entices someone to commit a crime they wouldn't have otherwise committed.

So a cop selling drugs, soliciting prostitution, or putting things out to steal is not usually entrapment, but trying to talk someone into committing those crimes would be. There are grey areas which depend on jurisdiction, but in general, the mere involvement of police is not entrapment.

If I caught that thief trying to nick my bike.....I'm using those bolt croppers to take his nuts off.
