Mold is often mentioned in the Bible

The problem of mold is as old as the Bible, and been around just as long. Now here's the thing - I went to Bible college, and I spent many years in ministry - but I never remember talking about mold in any of my studies! Believe it or not, mold is referred to in the Bible as a health problem. Even back in the times of Moses and the Israelites, we have a specific reference to mold problems. In the book of Leviticus, which was written to articulate the laws of God to the Israelites, we see mention of this issue. In Leviticus chapter 14, verse 45, we read that a house desecrated by mildew, mold, or fungus would be a defiled place to live in, so drastic measures had to be taken. And then in Leviticus chapter 13, verses 47-50, we learn what the Israelites were to do if their clothing was contaminated with mold or mildew. These references clearly remind us that mold is a problem that's not only been around a long time, but is most likely here to stay as well.
