My keyboard went out on the laptop I have had for only 7 months and when I brought it to my Local Best Buy Geek Squad counter the "Geek" was very courteous and friendly to me...
BUT... they honestly expected me to send my laptop off to their service center for 5-8 weeks, get my hard drive wiped and shut down my business during that period including the extra week I would have to spend restoring all my data, re-installing my programs and re-configuring settings.
Yeah Right! That's a bunch of garbage! Oh, and then to tell me my warranty would be void if I bought my own keyboard and installed it.
Thanks for taking my money and promising to cover my laptop in case of defects and when one comes up, you strong arm me into limping along with a gimp computer or choose to lose thousands of dollars from not being able to do work....
The manufacturer warranty although painful is not even as bad as what I PAID you for out of my pocket.

had my run in with the "scam squad" today bought extra warranty 1year got a virus, took my 900 dollar laptop in they said it dont cover that it would be another $200!! But if i take a bat to it they will replace it? That dont make sence so ill have to smash it to prove my point!

@BanditSiix, this sound typical "Scam squad from bestbuy". u just one of the millions.they dont fix crap and keep charging you. ask urself next time are they repairman or saleman? even if you drop ur laptop from building, they still charging extra with your warranty. try find a good LOCAL computer repair store. dont spend like a grand on Toshiba; it low quality laptop. all the toshiba's parts are scraps from around the world to be put together.
