This is a neat 1955 Ford Motor Company Dealership 78RPM postcard record sent out to advertise the arrival of the new 1956 models. The text should be readable at the early part of the video. I've had 4 of these, this is the first one that played through without skipping. Feqtures the Mitch Miller Orchestra and Rosemary Clooney on Vocals. A beautiful item, a beautiful car, and a beautiful voice. A true prize.

PS: The only reason this played on an automatic turntable is that the reject feature was not functioning at the time I made this video. Usually it would only play on a manual turntable, and even then, It was tricky to have the right weight of tonearm that wouldnt weigh down the reocrd and stop it and would have the microgroove needle to stay planted in the thin plastic grooves of this record. Ill tell ya, The first time I played this it was like hearing ghosts from the past. I smiled from ear to ear!

  • Wow that's pretty neat. Where do you find a lot of these? Do you have more of the postcard records and 78s?

  • I have just a few postcard records, maybe 5. I have about 1,500-2,000 78's. I lost count when i received about 800 from a guy, and I havent counted or sorted them into my personal collection yet.

  • Oh, and I find them online, local record stores, and record conventions.

  • Just like the Lexus-with-a-big-ribbon-wrapped-around-it ads today. Materialism hasn't changed.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana Yea, i know back then "gay" meant happy, but still was funny to hear it that way...LOL....sing that now and everyone will think you're a homosexual LOL

  • That is awesome! I used to have one of those cards, but never listened to it.

  • That is Henry Ford's genius at work!

  • I wish I could travel back in time and get myself a 56 Ford.

  • I love my Zenith Cobra,too! I have 6 of them! And a 56' Mercury station wagon!

  • I don't think Santa's looking at the car!
