The True Original "Flat" version of the Main Street Electrical Parade, which was released to the public on record between 1972 or 1974. This was the original Studio version, which did not consist of the Tribute To America portion of the parade.

  • This is not the '72 version. This is the '77 version. Do a YouTube search for "Baroque Hoedown" and you'll hear what the '72 version of the Baroque Hoedown sounded like.

  • Read the Description, It says it is from somewhere between '72 and '74. Besides, my father was there the first day this was performed to the public on june 12, 1972. He was also one of the first people to get a copy of the record for this, which he made into a tape some years later, and i used a dazzle to get it to my pc, to youtube. Trust me, this is the real thing from 1972.

  • I mean it's not the 72 version. Blast my bad typing. :)

  • My father was performing there for a grad night, he confirmed that it was the original(without the American tribute of course)because he has an extremely good memory.

  • @SonicMaster01 Your dad's memory is incorrect. He must have done a Grad Nite in 1977 or later as this music is absolutely not the music used during the MSEP's original run. If you want to hear what the music sounded like, I found a YouTube video that has it.

Search for "Absolutely Complete Main Street Electrical Parade 2/6"

Go to about 8:30 and you'll hear Baroque Hoedown, Alice Unit, and Angry Dragon, which was the precursor to Pete's Dragon and was a large Chinese dragon

  • @DefconWarningSystem, I have already searched this one, and i showed it to my father, who confirmed that the version you sepeak of was not from 72. He was there with a band he was in, and they were invited to perform for the class of '72's grad night. he was class of '71.

  • @all of the arguers

who gives a rat's hiney what year it's from! y'all need to stop bickering. its annoying

this music is awesome and gives MANY memories regardless of what year it's from

  • I don't care what year it came out, I love it!! :D My only question is (and not trolling or looking for a fight, or anything, only curious...), wasn't Pete's Dragon released in '77? And at 5:40 isn't that Brazzle Dazzle Day from Pete's Dragon playing? Was that song in a another movie or cartoon before it was used in Pete's?

    Cheers.

  • the vynil is released in 1973,The original version of the Electrical Parade shared its soundtrack with Walt Disney World's Electrical Water Pageant, which began its run on October 24, 1971, about nine months before. This version used a loop of the original Perrey & Kingsley version of "Baroque Hoedown" with a bass addition.

  • This brings back tons of memories from when I was 5 years old! I'm 35 now! LOL!

  • I have the LP for this which came in the late 70s; it's the second edition, since the Chinese Dragon is featured on the first :)

  • @MarioSonic2010 I have Backstage Disney: MSEP. It's really a fascinating documentary which I wish went even more in depth than it did. The whole thing is amazing.

  • @DefconWarningSystem I don't have one. But Geeker1982 does.

  • @MarioSonic2010 Wikipedia is wrong. (Big surprise) Try and find a copy of "Backstage Disney: The Main Street Electrical Parade".
