I thought maybe that if throttled up a bit on the windward side and angling the rudder leeward would what a pilot would do in the real world.

lol you went on the grass, by the time your plane would have stopped it would have dug a hole for itself into the grass. That was a failed landing.

You know I think that flight simulator is a great tool for those who truly takes it seriously I do like to watch people shoving their skills flying a simulator however I hate to see these videos when someone is doing stupid things.

Your technique is wrong man. Before touch-down you show use rudder to the right to line up with the runway, that makes you plane slide to the right so you have to roll left a bit to compensate and land on the left wheels. As you see by not doing so when wheel took grasp you just drove away to the grass. and btw no one ever sane enough will land in 40 kts crosswind
