Almost three years since this video has been posted, and I am happy to see some of the YouTube community has enjoyed this video and hope they will continue to in the future. This video was of a halibut catch while made in Gustavus, Alaska, a beautiful part of America that I am happy to have seen.

I want to thank everyone for their witty and intelligent comments, and look forward to more comments such as loosertubesucks, saying: What a f***ing d***head! Stupid f***ing interbred white trash f***got! Capt c***sucker needs to be p**sed on then shot and thrown overboard.

I agree wholeheartedly with his conclusion, and hope you do too! Feel free to comment (liked the video, or hated it), and I will do my best to read your feedback.

  • A fish that big would straighten a gaff once you stuck him. They usually come unglued and once you gaff them you have to bring them in. People have been hurt when they bring in a pissed halibut and he start flopping around. broken legs, arms and such. Best thing to do is just was these guys did. Harpoon them, let them freak out, and shark hook them once they calm down.

  • @corremosmucho oh my gosh!! what did you do to it?? Stab it or something? D: That's so terrible. But nice catch, I would have dropped the pole if I saw how big it was. :) Biggest bobber I've seen also. :P

  • 20 years ago at Gustavus we were fishing on Joe's 14 foot aluminum boat when we caught a 200 lb halibut. We were crazy even trying to get it in the boat as his daughter Molly screamed and laughed at us. But we brought it home and found a large salmon and a couple of crabs in it's belly. Broke the scale at the store but we got her weighed.

  • "Go Billy, go!"

"Hey you gotta hurry up, we can't be late for your wedding! Your cousin hates when your late!"

  • Holy shit did they just shoot that halibut!? that was awesome!

  • wow
