Islam's tenuous connection to Jerusalem is the following: Allegedly Muhammad flew on a horse with a woman's head (anyone see beastality overtones) from Saudi Arabi over night to the "farthest place" which is not elaborated on. This purely mythical connection is the basis for "Palestinians" (who are culturally, ethnically, and religiously identical to Jordanians and thus should be called what they are) claim to Jerusalem. Meanwhile, Jerusalem was the capital of ancient Israel for 1000 years.
