Now that I think about it, this kind of spawned one of my favorite Homestuck pairings in the fandom. Had Vriska not killed Aradia, she would've never beaten her within inches of her life. Tavros then had to save her thus unleashing his true flushed feelings in his choice to spare her bleeding out, though she had crippled him.
