First morning out in Norton, Kansas hunting for Rios. It looks dark, but it's just heavy cloud cover and poor quality camera. I cut out about 15min worth of 6 toms strutting just out of range. Then we called and these two came running in.

Blasted it with the 10 gauge shotgun at only 25 yards. Tom weighed about 19lbs with 1 1/8" hooks but NO BEARD. We found a 1/2" stub of a beard that broke off by some means.

  • good work boys to bad about the beard though

  • ice.... that's probably what happeed to your beard. It froze in the winter and then most likely broke off, or it had beard rot. It depends on the color of the "nub". ...and I hear ya on the crappy camera. me 2.
